Colour: A light and pale colour with green hues.
Bouquet: Intense lime juice backed by a delicate fragrance of orange blossom and lavender giving a bouquet that is zesty and fresh, yet also of great depth.
Palate: The feature of the palate is the tightly wound structure that is enveloped by beautiful rich lime juice fruit characters. This fruit richness provides the generosity and succulence that is so appealing as a young wine. The core of natural acidity creates that great structure, finesse and length for the wine. The balance between the fruit generosity and tight acid structure is the hallmark of Castle Rock Rieslings. Lively, crisp and with an attractive delicacy now, this wine will blossom with age for at least fifteen years. FOOD ACCOMPANIMENTIdeal aperitif wine, will also accompany fish, delicate crustacean and mild Asian dishes. CELLARING POTENTIALExcellent ageing potential. It will continue to improve through its first year and then plateau, should drink well for at least 15 years.

95 Point "... Super Riesling and what a way to celebrate winemaker Rob Diletti's 20th vintage! ... Limes squeeze tight and inject concentrated juice into your soul. A little steely and minerally, scents of talc and white flowers add pretty factor. Chalky to close with a lick of green apple, a fabulously refreshing drink once again. Drink now to embrace the freshness but it will age." QWine
94 Points "Castle Rock’s Porongurup Riesling is a benchmark for the region. From the look of this wine 2020 is going to be a good vintage, if a little earlier drinking than usual. Often the Castle Rock Rieslings can take a little while to come around but this is already drinking beautifully and showcasing the rare purity seen in Riesling from Porongurup. It is very pale in colour with pristine and focussed fruits; lime pith and white pear are lifted by a touch of rock and spice with youthful vitality bursting through. In the mouth the wine is composed – its citrus fruits beautifully matched by a core of lip-smacking but well integrated acidity. The balance is a killer here as is the tight fruit and long zesty finish. Super value and a perfect match to Thai stir-fried pippies." Winepilot, Angus Hughson
"This 2020 Castle Rock Riesling from the cool & elevated Porongurup region [WA] is steely, and currently delicately restrained However there is a powerful sub-structure of minerality, vibrant fruit and searing acid lurking under the surface. This presages very good cellaring potential The current primary fruit profile is one of zesty lime with backnotes of exotic loquat and talc It is a tightly structured Riesling reflective of its vintage, regionality and deft winemaking by craftsman Rob Diletti."
